The Best Preparation for Tomorrow

The Best Preparation for Tomorrow | And Then We Saved

“The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.” – H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

I struggle with preparing for tomorrow. It’s so unknown. How should I save for retirement? How much should I save? What if I don’t make it to retirement? What if I never get to retire?!? At the end of the day, I can’t worry too much about it. All I can do is my best. And my best is saving what I can today.

How are you doing your best today? Let’s chat in the comments!

This is such a great topic! I try to make sure I plan as many of the little things the day before as I can (outfit, coffee, lunch, etc.). It’s when the small stuff is taken care of that I can tackle the big stuff!

So on point for summing up my thoughts! I’m only young but unlike a lot of other young people I want to save for retirement sooner rather than rather. It’s so difficult knowing how much is enough, especially taking into account how much the ‘value’ of money might change between now and then.

Start early! I remember my first job, they gave me some retirement info and I laughed because the date was so far in the future it was unimaginable. But time moves quick. Learn as much as you can, early, about saving and retirement. I wish I knew then what I know now. Even if you are saving $5 a week, put it in an account and DON’T TOUCH IT!!! It will grow over 30 – 40 years. Let it sit and forget about it and it will grown on it’s own. Every little bit counts.
