Quality Of Life Issues and Other Very Important Things

Below is a snippet from an article I found on The Gloss by Jen Dziura. Click on the below section to read the full article. This essay brings up a good issue. It makes me think about “The quality of life issue” and how do I REALLY want to spend the hours of my life? Maybe that’s not the authors point but that’s what I got out of it.

Broccoli. It’s very important.

I totally agree with this post. What matters most in life is whether you are doing what you want to do when you want to do it. I am very lucky to have the luxury of going back to bed after my kids go to school, mess around on FB all day long, or just read a book due to an overachieving husband who works a stressed out job in IT. He doesn't particularly love the job, but the commute is great, since all he has to do is walk downstairs to his computer. Working from home is really a good way to deal with job stress, although the lines between work and home can certainly become very blurry, as they have here. I have had to separate myself into another part of the house to get away from his constant conference calls that allow us to have a roof over our heads and food in our stomachs. So I'm not complaining, because I do have the wonderful ability to mostly decide when I want to do something as my kids get older.

I am working hard at finding ways to "fix things up" and reuse what I have to keep from having to go back out to work. I think it's more important to be happy and not overspending on credit cards, but it took me a long time to get here and a lot of credit card debt.
