What Kind of Life is Waiting for You?

get out of debt motivational quote

“We must let go of the life we’ve planned to have the life that is waiting for us.” – Joseph Campbell

In a lot of ways starting the Spending Fast was scary. It was super exciting but also kind of, a little bit scary. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I only knew that I could no longer go on living the way I had been. I knew I had to change my life and to change my life I had to let go of some of my old ideas. I had to let go completely to my old way of life. I had to be open to the possibilty that life could be better. That life could be different.

Once I let go my life changed. I decided to make one decision- do the Spending Fast, and that’s when my life changed. You can change your life too. You can let go and see what is waiting for you. I dare you to give it a try. You deserve the freedom that comes from being debt-free. Trust me, it’s a great way to live. I want you to be free to live that awesome life that’s waiting for you.

I am having a hard time trying to get the husband on the same path to try something like this. I know we could be saving and paying off so much more debt in the month, but he has more of a free-spirit kind of mind….

It’s hard when your partner isn’t on board but do what you can and that will still make a big difference in your finances. Maybe what you’re doing will even rub off on him… Make it about showing him how good life is once you start taking control of your money rather than just telling him how could things could be. He just might come around…

Cutting the last check on our mortgage really felt like removing shackles.

No one had a call on us. We were free. It’s much easier to be in the moment, when you’re not worried about the future.

I’ve never been on a spending fast but heard such great things about it. Although we’re on a budget, my husband is reluctant to not spend and use what we have. However, we have agreed that, no matter what, we will live by our envelopes (Dave Ramsey Style)… which has made us so much more conscious of our money decisions.

The life we want to lead is a life without the stress of counting on that next paycheck.

Just getting conscious with money is such a huge step. To not ignore that superfluous spending and get pro-active about learning more is all about ending that denial.

Here’s to not stressing about that next paycheck!

It’s so true. Making the decision to respect and commit to your financial future is one of the best thing you can do for yourself. Great quote.

Hi, your blog is so inspirational. It’s finally time for me to do a spending fast! How did you stay motivated day by day in particular your first few months? And when did you begin to see and feel the benefit?
    Thanks
