It’s In The Cupboards

eat out of your cupboards

I’m eating rice and toast for dinner tonight because it’s hanging around (nothing like carb-loading for a non-marathoner). Next up: that box of Cream of Wheat that I thought was a good idea six months ago.

Extra points for throwing down a vintage table runner, and minus two points for getting into the Maalox right now.

Homemade gut rot. On the cheap.

Oh no @ gut rot, but hooray for pantry cooking! Using up weird crap from the pantry has become one of my new endeavors, and though it yields some odd (and not always tasty) results, it's also tremendously satisfying. An empty pantry makes grocery shopping that much more exciting, too :)

Did that last night…looked in the cupboard and found a box of cornmeal, a package of orzo (don't know how old that was) and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Added the celery I had in the fridge and made dinner. Actually fed two hungry boys! Mushroom orzo and cornbread. Now for today…
