Sometimes in life we have to make hard choices, like: Do I carve my pumpkin to look like a ghost face, a vampire, or the traditional Jack-O’-Lantern face? Tough decisions, tough decisions. The good news is, with this DIY Jack-O’-Lantern Banner you can have them all! Instead of carving a pumpkin, you can paint little pumpkin faces that will spook-ify any space in your home for cheap! Here is how…
Supplies:
– Twine, string, or yarn. I went with some super adorable gray and white baker’s twine.
– 10-15 triangles cut from cheap black fabric. I found some fabric on sale for $1.50/yard (double fist pump!). The triangles are cut to 6″ on each side.
– Craft paint and paint brush
– Sewing machine or needle and thread
Step 1:
Get into the Halloween spirit with a paintbrush in hand. When I painted my Jack-O’-Lantern faces I tried to keep it simple-triangles eyes, circle mouths, square bucked teeth. All very cute, but more importantly easy to paint.
Step 2:
After the little spooky faces dried completely I sewed each one of them to my baker’s twine to create a banner. The stitch I used was a zig-zag over the top of the twine to make sure the twine was secured all the way down one side of the triangle.
And you are finished! See wasn’t that east and simple? Now your Halloween decor is complete!
